put ; the spring basin is full with fallen leaves. Date of collecting : 8 Sept. 1955. Aerial temperature : 25 °C; water temp.: 11,2 °C ; pH 7,10. Spring 22. Jancsi-forrás. 650 m. southeast to Spring 21., in the level of the Lepence stream, on its right side. It is surrounded by stones and also covered. Very abundant in water, the source wells up in a strong issue from its bottom. Height a. s. 1.: 180 m. Date of collecting : 15 Sept. 1955. Aerial temperature : 24,3 °C ; water temp.: 10,5 °C ; pH 7,00. Spring 23. 1300 m south of Spring 22, in the continuation of the right branch of the Lepence stream. An unframed spring, on a steep inclination, in a cave-like niche. Height a. s. L: 330 m. Date of collecting : 15 Sept. 1955. Aerial temperature : 23 °C ; water temp. 11 °C; pH 6,78. Spring 24. 1600 m northwest to the chapel of Pilisszentlászló, in the northern side of the Pálbükk. It flows from a fissure of the cliff, and is unframed. Height a. s. 1.: 330 m. Date of collecting : 15 Sept. 1955. Aerial temperature : 21 °C ; water temp.: 15,2 °C ; pH 6,78. Spring 25. 600 m west to Spring 24, at the northwestern foot of the Pálbükk, 5 steps from the brook, at the trunk of a tree, in a natural rocky niche. It has no visible outflow but the water wells in a well visible issue from the bottom of its basin, and it runs away underground. Height a. s. 1.: 300 m. Date of collecting 15 Sept. 1955. Aerial temperature : 21,5 °C ; water temp.: 11 °C ; pH 7,21. Spring 26. 2500 m northwest to the hospice on the Dobogókő. A seeping spring, covered by fallen leaves. Height a. s. 1.: 430 m. Date of collecting : 2 Oct. 1955. Aerial temperature : 20 °C ; water temp.: 10 °C. Spring 27. 150 m northwest to Spring 26. An unframed spring. Height a. s. 1.: 420 m. Date of collecting : 2 Oct. 1955. Aerial temperature : 22 °C ; water temp.: 10 °C ; pH 7,20. Spring 28. Fényes-forrás. 1000 m north-northeast to Spring 27. In the western sidebranch of the Lukács Ditch. An unframed spring. Height a. s. 1.: 320 m. Date of collecting : 3 Oct. 1955. Aerial temperature : 20 °C ; water temp.: 12 °C ; pH 7,38. Of the springs enumerated above, Nos. 9, 15, 18, 19 are more or less impure. Their water output is, related to the size of their basin, exceedingly meagre, and so their temperatures also vary. The varying temperature and their contaminated state account for the absence of the cold stenothermous species characteristical of the other springs. (See Table showing the fauna of the Springs.) The presence in, or absence from, the other clear springs of a constantly low temperature of the cold stenothermous species cannot be explained on the basis of hydrochemical data at our disposal, nevertheless, we give, for the sake of information, the minimum and maximum values of some hydrochemical data of the springs (with the exception of Nos. 9, 15, 18, 19), as follows : In our table, we enumerate the Crustacean and Molluskan species found in the springs of the Mts. Dunazug. Of the Crustacean and Molluskan species found in the springs of the Mts. Dunazug, we wish to give the following summary data : minimum maximum Dissolved 0 2 Chlorides Ammonia Total hardness, in h. of German degrees 2,1 3,0 0,0 5,50 15,6 12,0 0,40 18,6 Crustacea Ostracoda Potamocypris villosa (Jurine). — Cosmopolitan, known also from springs. A single specimen was found in Spring 5.
