but the pronotal angles are more angularly projected in this species than in A. forcipatum. A single male specimen from Przewalsk, Turkestan, is in the collection of the Hungarian National Museum, Budapest. 10. Acanthosoma labiduroides JAK. (Plate IV. fig., 1,7^-19.) (1915) ; ESAKI, Ent. Magaz., Kyoto, II. p. 126. fig. 3. (1916). This large and conspicuous species is in Japan not scarce in the northern and mountainous regions. The types (1 cf, 2 99) were collected in Wladiwostok and China, and are now kept in the Zoological Museum of the Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg. Acanthosoma giganteum MATSUMURA [Thous. Ins. Jap., Addit., I. p. 128. tab. 13. fig. 11. (1913)] is not an Acanthosoma, but a typical Anaxandra. This species was originally described from Japan, and is also known from China. („Szechwan", [Zool., Mus., St. Petersburg]; „China merid." [Ent. Inst. Berlin-Dahlem] ; „Yun-Nan Tali", „China merid.", and „Annam, Laos", [Hung. Nation. Mus., Budapest]). A male specimen from Japan in the Entomological Institute, Berlin — Dahlem is labelled by BREDDIN as „Anaxandra veris", whose description seems not to be published and the name should be regarded as in litteris.
