London p. 274. «Nigra, pube nigra vestita, thorace postice pube flava decorato ; alis nigro-fuscis ( 5 ). — Flava, tibiis posticis intus nigro-hirtis ; alis fusco-hyalinis, apicibus nigro minute et regulariter crebre punctatis ( cf ). $ . — pVs lines (=18 mm). Black, and clothed with black pubescence ; face with a thin griseous pubescence ; flagellum except the 2 basal segments, fulvour beneath. Thorax clothed with bright yellow pubescence, behind the wings light brown. cf. — 10 lines (=21 mm). Clothed with pale fulvous-yellow pubescence ; antennae as in the $ ; anterior legs elongate, tarsi with a long fringe of pubescence outside, posterior legs curved inwards ; clothed outside with yellow and inside with black pubescence ; wings subhyaline, with a fine cupreous iridescence. Mysol, Waigiou. » Milne Bai, Sattelberg, Neu-Pommern, BÍRÓ leg. Mir liegen Exemplare von Key Eilanden und Gorom (KÜHN leg.) vor ; ferner von NeuGuinea (SEMON leg.), Boon (FRUHSTORFER leg.), auch 1 cf von Gorom. 55. Xylocopa tricolor BITS. 1876. — Xylocopa tricolor Ç RITSEMA Tijdscbr. v. Entom. XIX. p. 180. Ç . — Der X. nobilis SM. verwandt, doch von dieser vor allem zu unterscheiden durch das Fehlen des gelben Bandes über dem Prothorax und dem Scutellum, sowie durch grössere Ausbreitung von der roten Behaarung auf dem Abdomen. L. 27 mm. — Schwarz ; Kopf, Thorax und Beine schwarz behaart, Hinterrand des Scutellum scharf. Flügel sehr dunkelbraun, mit bronzepurpurenem Schein, 2. Cubitalquerader vereinigt sich nicht mit der Cubitalader. Abdomensegment 1 gelb, 2 auf der Basis schwarz, der übrige Teil mit steinroten Haaren dicht besetzt, an den Seiten lang befranst mit den gleichen Haaren. Ventralsegmente rot befranst. 1 J Sula Eiland of Sula Besi gefangen. Rèichs-Museum in Leiden. Mir liegen $ von Sula Besi (Doherty), von Tomia und Kalidupa Buton (KÜHN leg.) vor. cf unbekannt.
