ISBN 978 963 87 444 1 8 At the turn of 2006 and 2007 the renovation of the museum's interior spaces continued according to plan: by December 2006 the halls on the upper floor, the cloakroom area and the stairwell had been painted. Thanks to the determined efforts of collections manager Nikolett Szederkényi, the conversion project of the vaults was put into operation, as well as the professional cleaning and conservation of the works of art. As a result, the exact appropriation of the permanent collection can begin in the coming months, along with the digitálisadon of the material. The programme of the Vasarely Museum was defined by the exhibitions of the Open Structures Art Society (OSAS) in 2007. After the exhibition "Real and Virtual Spaces II" the analytical research of the elements of artistic forming according to the concept of the two curators, Dóra Mauer and Zoltán Prosek continued. The exhibition entitled "Living Color" (26 January, 2007 - 30 April, 2008) presented the multiple meanings of colour perception and the possibilities inherent in interpreting space through colours. The exhibition was centred on the colour theory research conducted by Josef Albers and his students and the study that summed up the research results, entitled Interaction of Color (1965). The selection of serigraphs that form part of the first, English-language edition of the book was exhibited for the first time in Hungary. The luminogram series (Squaring the Circle. Side Density I-IX, 2006) by/\gnes Eperjesi, representing the young generation of contemporary artists, the subtle silkscreen "on the verge of experience" (Tindal and Covered, 2004) by Gábor Erdélyi, the blow-ups of the sky (The Blue of the Sky, 2001) by Austrian artist Inge Dick, the transcendent "space-colour" gesture (15 August, 2006, III) by István Nádler, and Head (1998) by Ákos Birkás, which emphasises the material quality of pigment, can all be included in the scope of "perceptual painting" discussed in Albers' treatise. The relief-like composition by Henryk Stazewski (Co?nposition no. 91, 1961) and the meditative colour fields created by Stefan Gierowski in an attempt to capture the spatial aspect of colour (06 D-CCLIV, 1967) represented the continuity in Polish Constructivism. The picture of the constructivist-geometric art of the sixties and seventies in Central Eastern Europe was completed by the serial composition created by dividing a circle (Untitled, 1971) by the Slovakian
