concept is the same, since the construction of the ribs differs in its technical aspects. On the piece no. 7, the rib is embossed into the base-sheet of the cylinder part, while on the pair no. 5-6, the rib is made from a separate strip of sheet gold soldered to the base-sheet (cf. figs. 7/j., and 5/i.). 4. On all pieces, the edge of the base-sheet of the truncated cone and the cylinder part is cut scalloped to fit the egg-pattern decoration near the ball-shaped part (cf. figs. 5/f., 6/f, and 7/f). 5. A dot is punched from the underside of the base-sheet, inside the arches of the egg-patterns (cf. figs. 5/ f., 6/f, and 7/f). 6. Narrowing cuts are applied to make the ball-shaped part of the connecting element (cf. figs. 5/e., 6/e., 7/e. and 8/e.). We can reconstruct the work process in the following way: a rectangular sheet was first embossed at the centre, in a patch as broad as the later ball. Then V-shaped small pieces were cut out 5/h 6/ h 7/i TRUNCATED CONE PART OF COMPLEX CONNECTING ELEMENTS, SIDE-VIEW 7/j 5/i RIB DECORATION OF THE CYLINDER PART OE COMPLEX CONNECTING ELEMENTS. DETAIL
