The Hungarian Open Air Museum Szentendre introduced several novelties according to the trends in European museums in the field of professional, scientific and educational methods during the first years of the new millennium. Thanks to the support provided by the European Union and by Hungarian resources, we have accomplished the Skanzen Heritage Program between 2008 and 2010. As part of this program we inaugurated in 2009 our new entrance building: a replica of the railway-station in eclectic style, built in 1883 in Mezőhegyes. The building is extended by a modern museum hall for visitors; furthermore, a railroad of 2,1 km, Europe's longest standard gauge railroad in a museum, has been constructed. The Skanzen Train pulled out of the station the first time on 7th April 2009, towed by the renewed BC mot no. 422 engine of the type Ganz-Jendrassik, which is the focus of this story.
