roof. People lived in them in summer and winter. The difference between the house types of the regions is seen in the joining of the lumbers and in the covering of the roof structure. Among the log-houses of the Voguls we often meet the so-called "western type", where the roof overhangs the front and covers the entrance. This is typical for the Finno-Ugric peoples of the Volga region. The Russian type log-houses provided with ceiling and a porch and divided into several rooms were built of 15-17 lumbers. They started to spread in North-Western Siberia not before the second half of the 19 th century, and mainly among those groups, which had intensive relations with the Russians.
