Annexa 1. Specialized domains in the research regarding the ethnobotany of the constructed environments. Aedobotany: deals with the study of plants preserved or planted around the buildings according to the needs and traditions characteristic for different ecological contitions or different historical periods. Aedobotany (as a part of ethnobiodiversity research) evaluates the quantity an quality of plant diversity inside and around a (not necessary traditional) construction in a given place and time. The practical goal of aedobotany is to collect, organize and use the traditional know-how regarding different plant species and communities used traditionally in different geographical places and historical times in order to enrich the landscape treasures of the environment. Aedobotany my be divided in the following subfields: - mansiobotany: studying the plant environment inside the house, - atriobotany: studying the plant environment of open parts of the building (windows, terraces etc.), - curiobotany: the plant environment of yards around the building, - hortobotany: the ethnobotanical study of plants in the flower garden, vegetable garden, andfruit garden, - pomerobotany: the study of hedges around the buildings, - sterquillobotany: the ethnobotanical study of rubbish places around the buildings, - sepulcrobotany: ethnobotanical study of churchyards and cemeteries, - moenobotany: ethnobotany of stone walls and ruins, - tusculobotany: study of the botanical environment of buildings placed in (semi)natural environments.
