József Hála ETHNOGRAPHISCHE BEOBACHTUNGEN UND PHOTOGRAPHIEN VON FERENC PÁVAI-VAJNA IN DER UMGEBUNG VON NAGYENYED UND DER GEGEND DER RADNAER ALPEN Ferenc PÁVAI-VAJNA (1886-1964) war ein hervorragender ungarischer Geologe, der sich in seiner Jugend auch mit Ethnographie beschäftigte und mehrere Publikationen auf Grund seiner Sammlung in den Dörfern um Nagyenyed (Siebenbürgen) veröffentlicht hatte. Gleichzeitig hat er am Ort zahlreiche Photographien gemacht, von denen 60 Stück im Budapester Ethnographischen Museum aufbewahrt werden. Der Autor teilt in dieser Studie eine skizzenhafte Biographie des Geologen Ferenc PÁVAI-VAJNA mit, er schildert seine ethnographisch bezogenen Photoaufnahmen und veröffentlicht einige von dessen ethnographischen Aufzeichnungen und Studien deren Manuskripte im Bocskai István Museum in Hajdúszoboszló aufbewahrt werden. In der Studie wurden 16 Photographien und 8 originale Zeichnungen von Ferenc PÁVAI-VAJNA abgebildet. József Hála ETHNOGRAPHICAL OBSERVATIONS AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY FERENC PÁVAI-VAJNA OF THE VICINITY OF NAGYENYED AND THE REGION OF THE SNOW-CAPPED MOUNTAINS OF RADNA As a young man (in the first decade of our century) Ferenc PÁVAI-VAJNA (1881-1964). the outstanding Hungarian geologist also engaged himself in ethnographical research and published several papers based on the material collected in the villages surrounding Nagyenyed (Transylvania). He also made many photographs at the same time in the same area sixty of which are in the photographic archives of the Budapest Ethnographical Museum.
