s work as well. Tamás Topperczer (1800—1880) when writing his manuscript worked as a municipal physician at Hódmezővásárhely (South-East Hungary). He took his doctor's exam in 1826 in Pest. He spoke German as his mother-tongue since his family had driven from the Zipser Késmárk to Hódmezővásárhely. His dissertation on carbunculus won the first prize at the competiton of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1835. This article is the first presentation of his manuscript up to now unknown to medical history.
