garian millenium (1896), and a third one reviews the special attitude of an English work about Semmelweis. Our Chronicle column (editor: Ms Márta Mohos) illustrates the continuity and regularity of temporary exhibitions in honour of anniversaries, seminars, foreign travelling exhibitions in the Semmelweis Medical Historical Museum, Library and Archives. Although being in short of financies and lack of space our Institute presents exhibitions which, by their contents, strive for complexity. In this year our temporary exhibition was of course about Hygiene and Public Health Policy during the Dualist Monarchy (1867—1918) in Hungary. We hope that this high level, widely illustrated, and partly renewed volume of the Communicationes in honour of the 1100 years anniversary of the Hungarian conquest shall receive tha satisfaction of the inquirer.
