(1773 1840), chief medical officer of county Lsztergom, professor of physiology at the University of Pest, later at Vienna, "protomedicus regii" from 1825, published his work in German on the human passions in Pest, in 1806 (Darstellung der menschlichen Leidenschaften). In 1824 an enlarged and revised version was published in Vienna (Darstellung des Gemüths in seinem Beziehungen zum geistigen und leiblichen Lebenj. Comparing the concepts of the two Hungarian authors, this paper concentrates on three questions. 1. The interpretation and pattern of mental life, of intellectual-emotional functions. 2.
