old "Serpent" Pharmacy, even if they bear stars as emblems. This can be explained by the fact that the pharmacy was given the name "Zum Stern" and was called so from 1784 until about 1790—1795. The vessels are very likely of Hungarian origin. This is also confirmed by their fine material, a favourite speciality of the Hungarian glass-works in that period. The polychromy of opaline glass vessels excellently pre­vails on them. The light-blue and black enamelling of the labels and the warm radi­ance of gilding renders a pleasant and refined harmony with the glowing blue and scarlet of the opaline glass, glittering in all the colours of the rainbow.
