TANULMÁNYOK - Sós József: Tangl és Hári, a hazai anyagcsere-kutatás és a biokémiai iskola megteremtői
-Az orvosi kar üléseinek jegyzőkönyvei: 1909. január 9. 1910. április 26. 1913. november 25. 1917. május 8. 1918. január 15. Summary They are the founders of the Hungarian school of biochemistry and research of metabolism. This medical school gave numerous outstanding researchers and professors to Hungary. Tangl establisched this school with the work of a decade. He worked with Hári together during the next 15 years and Hári continued the started research for more than 20 years. The first scientific essays of Tangl were made of competitive désigne. Finishing his medical studies at the medical university he made many studytours abroad and worked as assistant in form of shorter employments at various universities and academies. His pathological, nosological and bacteriological studies served only his scientific preparing, the main subjects of his field of interest was the physiology and in the frame of this the physiology of metabolism. He got a professorship at the faculty of physiology at the Academy of Veterinary Medicine and led the Veterinary Station of Phisiology and Forage. Beside this stress of work he kept alive his connections to the Medical Faculty too. He worked together with his assistant Pál Hári in best harmony. Tangl became later professor of general pathology and the Institute of Physiology and Pathological Chemistry under the direction of Hári was moved to the building of the Institute of Pathology. They could perform a very effectful coopertion of an increased degree for many years. Tangl was appointed in 1914 to professor of the Physiological Department, and Hári got the professorship of Physiology and Pathological Chemistry in the next year. At this time Tangl was already seriously ill and in 1918 died. His researches in the field of energy-circulation of organisms are outstanding. He was the editor of two international journals: Biochemische Zeitschrift and Jahresbericht über die Fortschritte auf dem Gebiete der Lehre von den pathogenen Mikroorganismen. He published the scientific papers of his institutes Ín yearly collected editions. Házi made significant investigations in the field of biochemistry, his favourite searching sphere was relationship between the energy and metabolism. Exceptional working ability and love of work were characteristic of him. His heart began to get worn out and he died in 1933 suddenly in the midst of work. Both of them educated out-standing personalities and researchers for the Hungarian physiological investigations. They produced really an important "medical school" in Hungary.
