TANULMÁNYOK - Oláh Andor: Pápai Páriz Ferenc, a magyar Hippokratész (1049—1716)

His knowledge, his life-work are rooted in the past (Hippocratic medicine, national traditions, Hungarian popular medication), but he could enrich the medicine of the 17th century with his own experiences and his teachings were not only effective at their time, but represented modern scientific methods. He was a pioneer in Hungary of the modern psychomatic medicine. His style, his elegant Hungarian language and his medical terms are offering a rich source for the reformation of the Hungarian medical language. The life-work of Pápai Páriz and his human habit are just therefore advice and good lesson to us, modern physicians.
