The Hungarian pharmaceutical industry has great traditions. A skilled staff of 1,600 specialists works in the scientific research laboratories; 16,000 workers are employed in nine factories including the Chinoin Chemical and Pharmaceutical Works Ltd, the Chemical Works of Gedeon Richter Ltd. and the United Works Pharmaceutical and Dietetic Products producing pharmaceuticals and fine chemicals. th among the world's pharmaceutical exporters. There is no group of diseases for which an effective Hungarian pharmacon is not available.
