In order to establish the various types for studying groups or individuals it became necessary to systematize the growing amount of information in type diagnosis. In recent years noted anthropologists made several attempts to establish an anthropolog­ical classification of the various types of man. (Cseboksarov, 1951; Roginskij- Levin, 1955; Comas, 1957, 1960; Biasutti, 1953; Garn, 1961; Gillin, 1959; Oshanin, 1957). Although the anthropological classification of types has its significance ,the fundamental theoretical criterion of systematiza­tion is not related to the correct distinction of the various studied groups of types, but to the acceptance of the existence of a single human species and the biological and psychic equality of the human races, i. e., taking this view as a hypothetical starting point for research.
