Als Engels feststellt, dass die Ergebnisse der Untersuchungen der lebendigen Natur die als starr angenommenen Grenzlinien zwischen den Phänomenen und den Gegenständen in gewisser Hinsicht lockern und ihre Relativität bezeugen, stüzt er sich auch auf die Hacckel'schen Lehren über Plastidula etc. Ein hervorragender Verdienst Haeckel's ist seine erfolgreiche Kritik der verschiedenen, im Wesentlichen teleologischen Hypothesen der Vererbung unter ihnen die Keimplasma-Hypothese Weismann's. Damit hat Haeckel uns eine Waffe in die Hand gegeben, welche wir auch heute noch erfolgreich gegen die Verfechter der reaktionären Rassentheoric, gegen die gut getarnten „modernisierten" Strömungen des Weismannismus und des Morganismus gebrauchen können - in Verteidigung des klassischen Darwinismus und dessen rechtmässigen Nachfolger, der Lchic Mitchurin's. Part IL Dr. László Faikas In 1959, the great annyversary of Darwinism, progressive manking commemorated also Ernst Haeckel's „Wclträtsel" (1899), which is mentioned and sustained also by Lenin in his epistcmological work ..Materialism and Empiriocriticism". Haeckel, and adherent of Darwinism, developing Schlciden's and Schwann's theory about cells contributed to the further development of the materialistic theory of genealogy. Virchow, in his Jouth a progressive materialist, turned against Darwinism in the second half of his life and professed ,,biological idealism". Therefore he came up against his former pupil, Haeckel about the cell-theory. In this late period of his, Virhow tried to squeeze the cell-theory, -one of the natural-philosophical saurces of dialectical materialism -into the Procrustesbed of the methaphysical theory maintainging that „cells come only out of cells", trying at the same time to make it one of the main supports of pathology. With Virchow the cell is the last building-mater of life, sickness and heredity. His cell-dogma gets into close relationship with Weismann's metaphysical and idealistic hypothesis of the ,,germ-plasma", as demonstrated also by K. A Timirjazev.
