Dr. HATOS GÉZA: A kjeldahlozás története
SUMMARY The author reviews in details the original paper of Kjeldahl's procedure of nitrogen-determination known all over the world, which appeared in 1883. The author is enumerating all the articles discussing Kjeldahl's original procedure which very soon proved the feasibility of the method., author refers to the papers dealing with improvements of Kjeldahl's original procedure, namely those concerning the shortening of the digestion time, further to make it suitable for the determination of the nitrogencontent of other carbon-compounds, which served originally only for the determination of protein-nitrogen; the modification meaning important advances are listed in chronological order. There is also mentioned the microand ultramicro technique of Kjeldahl's nitrogendéterminâtion. The author mentions the Hungarian Sándor Asbóth too, who tired to make Kjeldahl's procedure suitable with due modifications; for various carbon-compounds. Basing in Asbóth's experiment, the process of Jodlbauer was worked out, wich is now used too. The Hungarian Lajos Winkler is mentioned too, who modified the determination of ammonia through titrirnctry and he advised this, modification of Kjeldahlization in the year of 1914.
