ZSOLT SZÍJÁRTÓ Landscape and afterimage. The issue of memory places. Marianna Szabó's Kakpuszta installation This article deals with a land art installation that had been set up during a fieldwork organised by the Communication Department of the University of Pécs. The installation, which is analysed here from a cultural point of view, established a very specific place of memory in a natural environment, and itself was a consequence of a perspective taken form the interpretive social sciences. It offers, thus, the opportunity to look again at the notions of space and time as they had been developed by the French Historian Pierre Nora. The aim of the paper is to connect, or more clearly, to interconnect the traditions of art history and cultural science through the case of the installation taken as an example of cultural symbolisation of natural place.
