TAMÁS RÉVÉSZ - ANNA VÁRKONYI Global problems - local solutions Ecuador, Otavalo, Quito This photo essay depicts two examples of the UN's population control program in Ecuador. The first one resulted in the establishment of a hospital in Otavalo, which is a town mainly inhabited by Quechua speaking Indians. The hospital offers both traditional and alternative healing systems to the patients. In the second example a family centre was opened in Quito's slum, which has taken over in the meantime a big number of other social functions too.
