While describing the events of childhood, youth and adult age, the author outlines the situation of his former village, is speaking about the school, the religion, children's work, war-time events, the order of weekdays and feasts. The major experiences of his life were the military service and the resettlement to Hungary, both producing a decisive effect. The three Tchango life stories are at the same time memoirs for posterity, everydays history about the conservation of existence and identity, demonstrating that history is not only a mass of facts, a collection of data and a description of events, but an instructive attitude and a conserving mentality as well.
