The collector completed the collected and recorded information in order to draw the structure of the reported farmer' s smallholding with formal and substantial completeness. The main aspect of his approach is of social origin. The analysis of the type of operation and economic structure served the better understanding of social occurances. This analysis shows in the same time how to handle and interpret and utilize the manusscripts of this type. It shows how many charcteristic and important information can be extracted from these work diaries kept individually and compulsory, regarding the structure of the farmers smallholdings. It is only natural that this type of diaries have to be subject to discovery and collecting work. The other memory published from Kovácsy Tibor' s collection in Milota (manuscript inventory N° EA 12528) deals with the name question of the features of farmers' smallholding. The author collected these data for his essay on "The family smallholdings of peasants" in March and September 1976. The interviews with the informers belonging to exactly defined but different social groups concern mainly the period between the two world wars but also include information on the events of the decades after I945 and the personal opinions on them. In the course of talks the questions and answers were dealing with the interchanging relationships among the families of Milota, how they has solved the problems of the consistency of their farmer-like work organisation and the already existing capitalistic enviroment. Important data has been recorded about the strategy of family smallholdings, work organisation and job control. These information show that the process of production and consumption in farmers' life is in close connection with the non-economical processes. Editor
