SZ. BURGER ALICE: LATE ROMAN MONEY CIRCULATION IN SOUTH-PANNONIA / Régészeti Füzetek II/22. (Magyar Nemzeti Múzeum Budapest, 1981

THE STUDY OF MONEY CIRCULATION OF DIFFERENT SITESIN SOUTH-PANNONIA

Data of monetary circulation of cemeteries and grave s show an exactly similar trend with some of the closed finds, (e.g. Somogyszil - Mernye). In the period between 349-355 coins deriving from all the cemeteries show uniformly such a curve like the one of the big closed units (Figs. 8-11). It should be noted here that coins of the so-called "warrior's graves" have offered extremely interesting data regarding the circulation of the products of mints within a smaller period of time. The coins of Valentinian I and Valens occurred proportionately if compared to the individual sites. The coins of Gratian occurred in the greatest number in the group of MAJS - SOMODORSOMOGYSZIL (Cemet. ) and to a lesser extent in the graves of Baranya - Tolna - Somogy counties (GR/1). In the material of the group that personally could not be identified they occurred only in SOPIANAE (Pécs), CEMET and GR/l. When studying the entire monetary circulation of the group of cemeteries, graves (Fig. 61) SIS stands at 33 per cent, followed by THE with 19, and the rest of the mints takes up between 5-2 per cent. The remaining 43 per cent contains the material of the other eastern mints (with the exception of CON and CYZ) and of the Gallic ones that were producing in this period. Proportions of the individual sites can be studied on Fig. 60. t 1 44
