The Rise and Fall of Communism (1 945-1990) Room 20 Our last room, in which visitors are greeted with colourful election stickers, the first variants of the forint notes taking the place of the inflationary pengő, then - following the liquidation of the coalition period ­the cultic objects surrounding the person of communist Secretary-General Mátyás Rákosi and the statue of Stalin, his "greatest teacher", is designed to give a flavour of the atmosphere of the 45 years following the Second World War. We glimpse into the interior of the office of a factory foreman responsible for raising productivity and of an agricultural cooperative (ingathering), as well as the exhibition of social realist artworks in a house of culture.
