Insignia and chain of the Order of the Golden Fleece 19th century (Top two figures) The most important documents and relics of the founding of the collection are: Ferenc Széchényi 's petition to Francis I; the emperor's reply; the letter of foundation of November 25, 1802; the diary of the museum's first student; its first visitors' book; the spectacular catalogue of the coin and medal collection; the Order of the Golden Fleece given to Ferenc Széchényi for his noble deed (Fig. 45); a die made as a design for the museum's first seal (Fig. 46); the Key to the Imperial and Royal Bedchamber once held by 46.
