Scabbard Incomplete, in three pieces. Present maximum length. 19.5 cm. Breadth. 4.3 cm. Mouth. Type A2 , subcampanulate variety, upper border, Type ß, ornamented with engraved wavy lines, 1.2 cm. Midrib. Less prominent, ridge-shaped. Overlaps. Front over back. Reinforce. Frontal reinforce of two discs connected with a bar. The discs which are 2 cm long by 0.3 cm broad are ornamented with triskels with golden inlay. Loop. Type IB, bar-shaped and domed. Loopplates. The upper one is oval, the lower one is long and narrow. Design. la x ; Nav. II-fHSS, and Plastic Style. The two discs of the reinforce form the dragon heads. Sword Total length. 70 cm, the tip is missing. Breadth. 3.5 cm. Total length of hilt. 11 cm. GYŐRSZEMERE (County GyőrSopron). Sword with anthropoid hilt. From an inhumation grave. MNM, inv. no. 14.1935.2-3 (PL 15). Bronze hilt with iron blade The hilt is composed of four parts with median ring moulding and drawn on an iron tang. Projecting head (now broken), probably a knob head. Y-formed limbs surmounted by decorated knobs. Incised wavy lines ending in dots on the median ring. Incised triangles on the arm and leg knobs. Present maximum length. 17.7 cm (the blade is broken). Total length of hilt. 10.6 cm (head and one of the arm knobs are missing). Grave goods Bowl (La Tène Ci); knife, its form can no longer be reconstructed; sword, open-ringshaped type with inset discs (Navarro's Type la); whetstone; textile remains. Literature.
