Inv. 13.1882.33. 12. POMMEL (II. 12.) Unknown. Small bell-shaped bone object. The interior is hollowed to a globular shape. The exterior is decorated centrally with groove. H: 2.1 cm, Diam: 2.5 cm. Inv. 54.66.26. 13. HILT GUARD (III. 13.) Unknown. Oval bone plate with protruding ribs on either side. The perforation for the tongue of the hilt is rectangular. L: 9.0 cm, W: 3,7 cm, Th: 1.7 cm. On the bronze hilt, 5-6 mm thick bone discs were placed alternating with 2 mm thick bronze pieces in a way that the diameter of the circular plates was gradually diminished. In the central field covered with obliquely running, plastically formed, grooves. One end of the cylinder is broken. L: 9.5 cm, Diam: 2.2 cm. Inv. 141.1888.38. 17. HILT (III. 17.) Dunapentele (Fejér County). Bone cylinder divided by horizontally incised cuts. L: 3.7 cm, Diam: 2.3-2.7 cm. Inv. 60.1.57. 18. SCABBARD SLIDE (IV. 18.) Unknown. Fleissig collection. Narrow longitudinal bone object. In the middle is a rectangular opening to receive the suspension belt; through the two circular holes at both sides the loop was fastened to the sheath. The narrower face of the carving is finished with a straight line while the other is carved with a schematic floral decoration. L: 10.9 cm, H: 2.0 cm. Inv. 3.1950.52. 19. SCABBARD SLIDE (IV. 19.) Szőny (Komárom County). Reverse of a scabbard chape. Trape­zoid bone object with an incised line on both longituduinal sides. The two narrower sides have wedge-shaped cuts. Unearthed by A. Radnóti, in 1942 from Szőny, from area of the Cas­trum, from working section IV., in a depth of 110 cm. L: 5.4 cm, W: 3.7-2.7 cm. Inv. 3.1952.42. Bíró (1987a) 158. Fig. 2. 9. 21. SCABBARD CHAPE (IV. 21.) Szőny (Komárom County). Front and back of a scabbard chape. Found together, still joined to each other. The reverse is undecorated. The longitudinal side of the front face is bordered by plastically formed ribs. In a field bordered by these ribs an elliptic form can be seen, in the two upper corners a perforated pelta motif is carved. The whole plate is divided symmetrically by a central, projecting rib.
