FÜGGELÉK - András Zwickl: "The House of Modern Art"

members of the Nagybánya and the Gödöllő painters' colonies, the Kecskemét "neos" decamping in the same year as the society was founded and The Eight also presented their art at its venue. Its exhibitors included the youngest and most progressive artists, several women, creators working in the various fields of applied art, artists who had had no academic training, even dilettantes, "outsider" artists. The best witness to the significance of the Artists' House is the current fate of its exhibits: they are outstanding monuments of Hungarian art displayed in the permanent exhibition of the Hungarian National Gallery or masterpieces of international art exhibited in various museums of the world, from Saint Petersburg to Berlin, from Vienna to New York. This paper was written with the support of the János Bolyai and the Kuno Klebelsberg Research Fellowships. Translated by Péter Pásztor. 264 ANDRÁS ZWICKL
