34. Si Nicholas altarpiece from tin- church of St Andrew in Nagyszalók, 1490-1503 St Anne altarpiece from Kisszeben or on the winged altarpiece from Csíkszentlélek. The four virgin martyrs - SS Catherine, Barbara. Margaret and Dorothy - were often depicted together. Among the Hungarian saints. Stephen. Emeric and Ladislas are shown in two altar wings from Nagytótlak, and there is a carved figure of St Stephen and one of St Ladislas in the collection from Mateóc. Instead of appearing on the altarpiece. the portrait of the donor was usually relegated to a separate votive picture. An example is János Mutter's devotional picture from Eperjes. The coat of arms, however, is often included in the praedellas like that of the Czakó family on the winged altar from Csíkszentlélek.
