M Purchased by the City Gallery, Budapest, in 1938. Later in the Nagytétény Castle Museum. In the Museum of Fine Arts from 1961, and the Hungarian National Gallery from 1974. 17. SELF-PORTRAIT Adám Mányoki Around 1711 Oil, canvas; 87x61,5 cm Budapest, Hungarian National Gallery, inv. no.: 6508 In Galerie Schleißheim from 1775, on display in Schloß Lustheim from 1810. The Society of the Friends of the Museum acquired it through exchange of a work by Johann Heinrich Schönfeld. The Society then deposited it in the Museum of Fine Arts in 1931. In the Hungarian National Gallery since 1974. KING OF PRUSSIA, FREDERICK WILLIAM I (1688-1740) Son of Frederick III (I), elector of Brandenburg and King of Prussia (1657-1713) and Sophie Charlotte, duchess of Hanover (1668-1705). Crowned King of Prussia in 1713. Married Sophie Dorothea, duchess of Hanover (1687-1757) in 1706, daughter of George Louis, elector of Hanover (1660-1727), later King George I of England, and Sophie Dorothea, duchess of Zell (1666-1726). CHRISTIAN LUDWIG, MARGRAVE OF BRANDENBURG-SCHWEDT (1677-1734) Son of Frederick William, elector of Brandenburg (the "Great Elector," 1620-1688) and Dorothea, duchess of Holstein-Glücksburg (1636-1689). He studied at Leyden University from 1692, then took up a military career. He was governor of Halberstadt from 1696, knight of Malta from 1694, and knight of the Black Eagle Order, found­ed in Prussia, from 1701.
