Besenval was an intimate friend of Ferenc Rákóczi II, belonging to the prince's circle during his stay in Gdansk. Attributed to Adám Mányoki Around 1716-1717 Oil, canvas; 76,5 x 62 cm Inscribed top right, subsequently scratched in and retraced in white paint: "Grf Bielinska contesse Czin[ry]nska" Budapest, Hungarian National Gallery, inv. no.: 2001.7. M Housed in the Kahn-Wolf collection (Los Angeles) as a work by Robert Tourniéres (Portrait of the Countess Wiatinska) until 1960. As a gift of André J. Kahn-Wolf, it then went to the California Palace of the Legion of Honor, then to the collection of Stanford University, and finally to the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, from where it was sold in 2001 to the next owner as a work presumably by Mányoki. Bought from an American private collector in 2001. 37. PRESUMED PORTRAIT OF TERESA LUBIENSKA, BORN COUNTESS BIELINSKA (? - ca. 1735) The presumed model was the wife of Boguslaw Lubienski, commander-in-chief of the Saxon and Polish forces, castellan of Sandomierz. Attributed to Adám Mányoki Around 1716-1717 Oil, canvas; 79x63,5 cm Budapest, Hungarian National Museum, Historical Portrait Gallerv, inv. no.: 1910 In the royal palace of Buda from 1931, via state purchase from a Viennese private collector. Transferred from the Museum of Fine Arts to the Hungarian National Museum in 1949.
