In February István Szőnyi and Melinda Bartóky get married and move to Zebegény. In the Spring, Erzsébet Korb sets out on a study trip in Italy (Venice, Verona, Modena, Fiesole, Siena, Rome). Vilmos Aba-Novák spends his last academic year in Olgyai's class. Károly Patkó works at Nagybánya during the Summer; Vince Korda, Antal Deli, Dávid Jándi also visit the Artists' Colony. István Szőnyi goes on an Italian study trip (Florence, Orvieto, Siena, Perugia, Rome, Venice). The Szinyei Society's Mihály Zichy Graphics Award once again goes to Nándor Lajos Varga. Imre Nagy moves back to his homeplace, Csikzsögöd (Jigodin, Romania). Vilmos Aba-Novák and his future wife, Katalin Vulkovics, move to Zugliget. In July, on the completion of his studies, Jenő Paizs Goebel travels to France on a Marcell Nemes scholarship, painting in Paris and Barbizon right until December of the next year. The Budapest Museum of Fine Arts purchases Vilmos Aba-Novák's painting Fetching Wood. The Museum also acguires István Szőnyi's Man Reading through donation. István Szőnyi's daughter, Zsuzsa, is born. In January István Szőnyi has his second retrospective exhibition at the Ernst Museum. Szőnyi takes part in the Venice Biennial with his paintings, and Aba-Novák, Patkó, Nándor Lajos Varga and Jenő Tarjáni Simkovics with their graphic works. In May, Aba-Novák and - as a regular member - Szőnyi take part in the KUT exhibition in the Ernst Museum. In May-June one of Korb's paintings is shown at the Spring Exhibition of the Palace of Art. Szőnyi, Aba-Novák, Patkó and company participate at the Hungarian Graphics Exhibition in Zurich in June-July. In June-July, the works of Szőnyi, AbaNovák, Patkó and other members of the circle are shown at the Hungarian Graphics Exhibition held in Zurich. In October, István Szőnyi's SelFPortrait and Man Reading are shown at the new acguisitions exhibition of the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts. In October, Aba-Novák and Patkó, jointly with Masa Feszty, take part in the Ernst Museum's XXXth Group Exhibition with an extensive collection. Among others, Hugójohan and Antal Deli participate at the various groups exhibitions of the National Salon in the second half of the year. In December and in Januar/, the Ernst Museum exhibits the works of the Academy of Fine Arts' students, Aba-Novák, Paizs Goebel, Barcsay, among others. The first issue of the Hungarian avantgarde art magazine, Genius, is published in Arad (Romania) in January; its editor-in-chief is Zoltán Fránya. The Hungarian-Italian economic and financial agreement is concluded on January 27. Hungarian Radio airs its first on-the-spot broadcast on March 15. The KUT (Képzőművészek Uj Társasága; New Society of Artists) is founded during spring. József Nemes Lampérth dies in May.
