Stalking: Photographs with hunting themes in the Original Photograph Collection of the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture ÉVA VÖRÖS The paper presents the hunting-related photographs in the Original Photograph Collection of the Museum and Library of Hungarian Agriculture, with particular attention to those that can add further information to sociology research in connection with 19th-20th century agrarian history. The photographs can be divided into three larger thematic categories: hunting exhibitions (museum and specialist shows in Paris, Pressburg and Vienna); the so-called press photos and event photos made between the 1890s to the 1960s with references to general history and featuring historical characters; and the photographs of game management in the post-1945 era. The paper gives an insight to the photographic reports of contemporary press, comparing them to photos kept in the collection. Further information is provided about the typical poses used for hunting genre photos. As a result, short descriptions are given among others about the shooting parties that took place on the Gödöllő estate of Kaiser Franz Joseph and the entailed properties of Archduke Friedrich and Isabella (Féltorony, Karapancsa, Bellye) and similar major aristocratic events (at Gödöllő, Parnó, the High Tatra). The collection also includes material from the hunting writer József Fónagy and those relating to Governor Miklós Horthy. The major photographers of the period are also mentioned (Mór Erdélyi, Gyula Jelfy, Oszkár Kallós, Eugene Pirou and Moriz Nahr) who were either present at the shooting parties or took photos at the aforementioned exhibitions. 33
