Molnár Erzsébet: Kéziratos térképek a Magyar Mezőgazdasági Múzeum Térképgyűjteményében

Hand-drawn maps in the Map Collection of the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture ERZSÉBET MOLNÁR The aim of the study is the schematic informative review of the collections of manually constructed maps stored in the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture and to give an insight into the collections's versatility. The study deals with the circumstances of the creation of the Map Collection and emphasizes the indispensability of the map as a source material for agricultural historical research. The study also describes the collection's place among the document collections of the Agricultural History Department, deals with the time periods before the collection's creation when maps were not considered to be a collection of source materials in the museum, when the maps were part of thematic exhibitions. The study provides information about accessioning methods, the size of the collection, and gives a content-based list with emphasis on handwritten maps. The manually constructed map material is classified according to its contents, but also considers the separation of the old material from the new acquisitions. This form of classification emphasizes the map material associated with three estates, that of Alcsút, Magyaróvár, and Béke, dealing with the categories of estate maps, feudal maps, and land consolidation maps. The obligatory partition activity associated with the consolidation decree can be traced on the maps of the towns belonging to Béke estate in Pozsony County, where the greatest land owners were barons of the Jeszenák and Balassa families and counts of the Apponyi family. The study deals with estate maps, forest maps, their survey, hydrological maps, a large part of which is no longer in the museum’s possession, and also deals with the schematic map material of different estates. The description of the maps also mentions in the footnotes the makers' data and other information regarding the survey. Pappa Praedii Szent Lélek, Kneidinger András két korai (1776) erdőtérképe
