MÚZEUMTÖRTÉNETI TANULMÁNYOK - Csók Márta: Száz esztendő a „köz" művelődéséért
One hundred years in the service of 'public' education MÁRTA CSÓK The study „One hundred years in the service of 'public' education" presents the history of the relationship between Vajdahunyad Castle including the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture and the public on the basis of documents which are to be found in the database of the museum, of writings preserved at the Public Relations Department, of personal recollections and last but not least of the author's own experiences. It follows from the study that since the beginnings of its establishment the aim of the museum has been to introduce its visitors to the past, history, problems and questions lasting to the present by organizing exhibitions. The special guiding tours in connection with the exhibitions and film projections formed the first relationship between the public and the museum. During many years this relationship extended just like in the other national museums, and became consummate. Nowadays children's workshops planned with modern museum-pedagogical methods, programmes, theatre performances, amusing castle history walks, quizzes, events of 'noted green days' satisfying the demands of the public's various layers are offered to the visitors. Within the frame of the programme 'Museum for everybody' our museum belonging to the most popular museums nowadays keeps up a claim to the widest classes of society.
