The 25year-long existence of the first successful display had a tragic end: The exhibition was destroyed totally during WW2. The second exhibition, which was also very successful and constituted the basis of today's show, could be opened only in 1957 after a long spadework. A deserved heir of this exhibition is the present display opened on the eve of Hungary's joining to the European Union and erects a „monument" to the memory of the last 1000 years of Hungarian vini- and viticultrue by presenting the tool collection of the museum having been enriched considerably since then. The study „The Hungarian grape and wine in Europe" makes efforts to present not only the history of the exhibition but the informative exhibition, as well.
