DARVASNÉ MOLNÁR ANNA: Környezetkultúra, környezeti nevelés a múzeumpedagógiában
Many contradictions of the subject make this task difficult but, at the same time, interesting. Is the Vajdahunyad Castle a summit of Hungarian romantic architecture or merely a monumental scenery, a "strange" building? Is there any tie between the building representing architectural styles of thousand years and the busy bustle of the turn of the century? Is it possible to bridge over the contrast between the sphere of collection, the exhibitions of the museum and the style of the building housing them? A big contradiction of the man-made environment to the natural one is, that building activity is always carried on to the detriment of nature, it disturbs the undisturbed environment. Notwithstandig, can one trace the builder's intention to harmonize the building with the natural environment, the endeavour to achieve a common esthetic impression? The paper induces pondering over the possible contradictions, what may contribute to understanding the "genius loci". This is the starting point of our museum-pedagogical project, which is based methodically on the particular opportunities offered by museum-pedagogy, while observing the interaction of school and museum. Visualization is in the foreground of the planned system of means including variable means helping in different stages of acquisition of knowledge, utilizable with several age-groups, as well as a combined classroom, this latter being an essential condition of our educational project.
