A VILLAGE PHOTOGRAPHER PICTURES OF BÁCSBOKOD (1928-1970) During the summer of 1991, the Documentation Department of the Hungarian Agricultural Museum got richer with a special mass of materials. The "oeuvre" of a village photographer, Boldizsár Békey has been added to the photocollection. The whole lot consists of ten-thousand-odd glass-negatives and films, plus the prints made of them. The photos were taken in Bácsbokod ("Bács-Kiskun" County) and its surroundings, between 1928-70. The whole amount of pictures (about more than 40 years of period) is published in the following system: 1. Wedding pictures, 2. Family pictures, 3. Children's photos, 4. Funerals, 5. Groups, 6. Agricultural topic, 7. Pass photos. These photos are of great interest especially because Bácsbokod has got three nationalities, for centuries. Here Hungarians, Germans and a Southern Slavic community have been living together without any nationalist enmities. We can see the different divisions according to nations, ages and fortune - on thé photos; although these divisions did not mean any aversion against one another among the natives of the village.
