Kinga Csibi THE ALBUM OF THE ROYAL HUNGARIAN IRON FACTORY OF VAJDAHUNYAD The iron factory Vajdahunyad [today Hunyadoara, Romania] was, in the late 19th century, one of the centres of iron metallurgy applying the most up-to-date technology in the country. The boom of the factory was due to Dr. Antal Kerpely, one of the most outstanding experts of metallurgy of the epoch. In 1890, the leaders of the factory prepared a decorated album of photos for Antal Kerpely, showing - in detail - the iron factory Vajdahunyad, its environment, its staff as well as the products of the works. This leather-bound decorated album has been, since 2007, in the possession of the Collection of Metallurgy. 56
