Attila Szabó THE FIRST AIRPLANE COMPETITION IN BUDAPEST Between June 5 and 17, 1910, the Hungarian Aero Club organized "International Flying Races of Budapest" on the drill ground Rákosmező. For a money award of half a million Crowns 41 Hungarian and foreign pilots entered the race in 14 categories. The races brought considerable financial losses . The real gain of Hungarian aviation were the aeroplane hangars that remained after the event. The happenings of the days of the races were illustrated by ample photographic material, and the results are described in a detailed table. 281
