Attila Szabó THE FIRST AIRPLANE COMPETITION IN BUDAPEST Between June 5 and 17, 1910, the Hungar­ian Aero Club organized "International Fly­ing Races of Budapest" on the drill ground Rákosmező. For a money award of half a million Crowns 41 Hungarian and foreign pilots entered the race in 14 categories. The races brought considerable financial losses . The real gain of Hungarian aviation were the aeroplane hangars that remained after the event. The happenings of the days of the races were illustrated by ample photograph­ic material, and the results are described in a detailed table. 281
