TANULMÁNYOK - Vámos Éva Katalin: The Hungarian Industry at teh Budapest Spring Fairs (1918–38)
ÉVA KATALIN VÁMOS* THE HUNGARIAN INDUSTRY AT THE BUDAPEST SPRING FAIRS (1918—38) From 1906 on to our days the industrial fair organized in Budapest expanded gradually from the „March Fair" presenting the products of Hungarian paper industry, to the Budapest International Fairs. The industrial fair was founded on the initiative of the Association of the Municipal Merchants, in the building of the Vigadó (Municipal Concert Hall). It was meant to be a „Sample Products' Fair" where goods do not change owners but orders are placed. In Europe the Budapest Fair was the third one of this type after the one in Leipzig and the Poris „Főire". In other cities fairs of this type were only organized as late as 1917—1921 (1).
