TANULMÁNYOK - Pereházy Károly: Aranykoszorús műlakatos mestereink munkássága

SUMMARY KÁROLY PEREHÁZY: THE PRODUCTS OF OUR MASTER ART METAL WORKERS HONOURED WITH THE GOLDEN WREATH Wroght-iron production declined in our century as the railings of our buildings were manufactured in factories. To preserve the artistic level of the craft master's competitions were organised between the two world wars in Hungary. The bests were awarded with the title: Master with golden wreath. Only four masters were honoured with this title: József Forreider in 1925 (1870—1940) who lived in Budapest; Ferenc Tiringer in 1928 (1875— 1947) who lived in Kecskemét; Bandi A. Schima in 1932 who lived in Győr and Sándor Sima in 1937 (1894—1968) from Budapest. The article reports beside the artistic value of their work on their interesting technical innovation as well. They used instead of fire foging flame velding.
