HOPP FERENC MÚZEUM — MUSÉE FERENC HOPP - Horváth, Tibor: Report on the Activities of the Ferenc Hopp Museum of Eastern Asiatic Arts in 1968

Acquisitions of the Library: The year's total increase amounted to 282 volumes, including 95 volumes of periodicals. We received 129 of them by exchange (books, periodicals and catalogues) and another 48 volumes were donated. Our thanks are due to the UNESCO, Paris, the Embassies of India and Korea, the Korean Institute for Cultural Relations, Phenyang, Institut Français, Budapest, Tata Co., Bombay, Praeger, Inc., New York and Dr. Géza Fehérváry, London. Photo-Archives : The yearly increase amount to 373 negatives and 391 photographs. We are very thankful to Judith Kárász who just before her retirement from the Mu­seum of Applied Art kindly helped us to make the photographs for the Cata­logue and Handbook. Documentary-Archives : 18 items were added to this collection from which 13 pieces were very carefully made copies of the most interesting stone tools and weapons from the neolithic period sent by the Historical Museum, Hanoi. Restorations : Gábor Szabó has restored in a satisfactory, way five Japanese wooden statues and participated in a fortnightly course for advanced restoration studies organized by the Central Technological Institute.
