Fragment, hand-woven, Kashmir, earliest years of the XlXth century. 2/2 twill. Colours; red, yellow, light blues and light green on a cream ground. Mock termination on both ends with cream coloured foreign fabric. H: 84, b: 45 cm. Way of acquisition : unknown. Inv. Nr.: 8395. 4. Shawl, hand-woven, Kashmir, about 1830. 2/2 twill, cream centre field. Colours; light red, purplish red, golden yellow, greenish blue and blue on a cream ground. On the two longitudinal sides the trimming is sewn on. Torn, repaired. H: 294, b: 133 cm. Purchase: 1952. Inv. Nr.: 52.263. 5. Shawl, hand-wo ven, Kashmir, about 1830. 2/2 twill. Narrow border: vermillion, carmine, golden yellow, green and blue on the cream coloured ground. Wide border: light red, wine-red, purplish red, golden yellow, drab, purplish blue, blue, leaf green and grass green on dark red ground. Girdles and the border made separately. Torn, holed, repaired on several points. II: 325, b: 152 cm. Purchase : 1911. Inv. Nr.: 10667. Remark: Sanskrit inscription written with Indian ink: 324. 6. Girdle, hand-wo ven, Kashmir, first half on the XlXth century. 2/2 twill, colours: vermillion, purplish red, golden yellow, light blue, dark blue, light green and cream on cream ground.
