A fentiekben bemutatott „rendjelcsere" nem egyedülálló intézményünk történetében, s a Hadtörténeti Múzeum vezetése ma is arra törekszik, hogy a szövetséges haderők tárgyi emlékeit - köztük kitüntetéseket és jelvényeket - összegyűjtse, megőrizze s alkalomszerűen a nagyközönség elé tárja. Reméljük, hogy a ma gyűjteményünkbe kerülő tárgyak nem jutnak a Horthy-kori beszerzések sorsára. AN OFFICIAL DONATION OF GERMAN MILITARY DECORATIONS TO THE MILITARY HISTORY MUSEUM IN 1942 German-Hungarian brotherhood in arms was demonstrated in various ways during the Second World War, including a special manifestation in the museum field. In 1942, on the initiative of the Hungarian Military History Museum, the two parties mutually delivered sets of contemporary German and Hungarian military decorations to each other. The author presents the interesting details of the "exchange" and introduces the German military decorations and badges that were sent to the Military History Museum as a result of the issue. Unfortunately, a considerable (and the most valuable) part of the collection disappeared in the havoc at the end of the Second World War, together with several other treasures of the Military History Museum. Out of the original 72-piece set, today there are only 16 decorations, 8 ribbons and 4 cases of issue in the Numismatic Collection of the Museum. The most precious item of the remainder of the collection is the Knight's Cross of the War Merit Cross (Kriegsverdienstkreuz), of which only about 140 were awarded. The Spanish Cross (Spanienkreuz) in Bronze with and without Swords are also worth mentioning, along with the original case of issue of the Order of the German Eagle (Deutscher Adlerorderi) 2nd Class with Swords, and the ribbons of various grades of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross (Eisetnes Kreuz). DIE OFFIZIELLE ÜBERGABE DEUTSCHER KRIEGSAUSZEICHNUNGEN DEM HEERESMUSEUM 1942 Die deutsch-ungarische Waffenbrüderschaft äußerte sich während des Zweiten Weltkriegs in den verschiedensten Formen. Das Phänomen hatte einen spezifischen Bezug auf den Museumsbereich. Auf die Initiative des Heeresmuseums kam es 1942 zur Übergabe der Serien zeitgenössischer deutscher und ungarischer Kriegsauszeichnungen auf der Basis der Gegenseitigkeit zwischen den beiden Seiten. Der Autor beschreibt interessante Details des „Tausches" bzw. berichtet über die ins Heeresgeschichtliche Museum gelangten deutschen Kriegsauszeichnungen und Abzeichen.
