FARBAKY PÉTER realised. The construction of the new Royal Stables started on the building site in 1847 designed by László Rupp, a Viennese architect and Hofoaumeister-Ingenieur. During the siege in the Hungarian War of Independence in 1849 the yet unfinished building was damaged so the Schlossbauleitung was commissioned to prepare reconstruction in 1852.The architecture of the building completed by 1860 was modified to suit the royal palace by Alajos Hauszmann on the turn of the century. During World War II. the building of the Royal Stables was critically damaged so it was demolished in 1959. 160
