In 1992 we carried out rescue excavations at 24. Tölgyfa street. This area was situated in the territory of mediaeval Budafelhéviz, a suburb of Buda. From this part of Budafelhéviz we had only few historical and archaeological data. During three months we excavated rich layers of Celtic, Roman and Mediaeval periods. The most interesting object from the Middle Ages - which had its topographical importance as well - was the gravel road, probably leading to the mediaeval ferry of the river Danube. Adjacent to the road we found the part of a wooden building, dated to the second half of the 15th century; a pit with rich and high quality material of finds including (two obulus of Sigismund (1387-1437), and Wladislas I. (1440-1444); glazed stove tiles from the period of King Sigismund, Venetian glass vessel fragments, fine white pottery from the 15th century, and remains of a 13th century house partly dug into the ground.
