Feltárás a Víziváros Szent Péter mártír városnegyedében (Benda Judit - Hable Tibor)

(I. kép: 6, KÉRDŐ 1997) A 1520 centiméter vastag, sóderes útalapozás alatt még körülbelül fél méter vastag, sötétszürke őshumuszt tártunk fel, amelyben egvre több Kr. u. 1. századi leletanvagot és néhány őskori cserepet találtunk. Három, bolygatott gödör kisebb-nagyobb szelete került elő a szelvénv nyugati felében, leletanyagukban főleg kései kelta (La Téne D3) kerámiák töredékénél. A few earlier excavations ended with significant results and the proximity of these territories would have made the investigation of the Roman period exciting. Regrettably barely anything remained of the AD 2nd-3rd centuries levels because of the medieval pits and foundations. Half a meter beneath the last Arpádian Period level, a huer of spread rubble was found which mav represent the southern edge of the east-west running road observed in 1992 on the opposing lot at 22-30 Medve Street. {Fig. I: 6, KÉRDŐ 1997) A ea. half meter thick dark grev ancient humus was brought to light under the 1 5-20 em thick gravely road foundation, in which more and more finds from the AD 1st century and a few prehistoric shards were found. Parts of three large and small disturbed pits were also uncovered in the western half of the trench which mostly yielded fragments of late Celtic (La Tcnc D3) ceramics.
