It seems that a stream ran through the area in the Ice Age (near the basin of the modern Small Rákos Stream), and this territory may have been the swampy floodplain of the yvatercourse which animals visited to drink and wallow in. The coherent skeletal parts suggest that they yvere mineralized yvherc they fell. The geological conditions surrounding this process are still not understood in this region and hopefully the geological investigations planned for next year will help clarify this question. The exact age of the Ice Age fauna can be determined after the analysis of the finds and the results from 14C radiocarbon dating. The results of the excavation will add useful data to the knoyvledge of the Ice Age fauna in the territory of the Capital citv.
